Dua Lipa is a global pop superstar and says the criticism she got early in her career "fueled" her into showing people they were wrong about her.
Speaking to Zane Lowe on Apple Music 1, Dua says, "There can be a moment where people really love you and you feel so supported and you're like, 'Oh, this is great.' Especially in the beginning. I was doing interviews and people were like, 'How do you deal with hate?' And I'm like, 'I don't get any hate. It's great.' And then that changed really quickly."
"I remember even when it was Grammy's Best New Artist nomination and I'd won it and there was people online being like, 'She's not deserving of it. She's got no stage presence. She can't do this ... she won't be here next year.' There was a lot of that. That fueled me in a way."
She says, "Every time someone has doubted me, I've proved them wrong. ... This is pushing me to be better, to work hard. And I get a real kick out of proving people wrong."
Dua also discusses what she's learned about relationships over the past few years.
"You learn about your own nonnegotiables. I think that's an important thing," she tells Lowe. "It's of course the right person, but it's really about the right relationship. What are you willing to give up? ... Maybe you have an ick or something, or you see that someone is disloyal. I'm like, 'That's a nonnegotiable.'"
"I want someone who's loyal and open and honest, and that's what I'm willing to be as well in return," she adds. "You figure out what those things are for you."

Olivia Rodrigo might just be in lo-lo-lo-lo-lo-lo-lo-lo-lo-lo-lo-love. At the Tuesday, April 30, performance of her Guts World Tour in Dublin, Ireland, Olivia changed a lyric in her song "so american." Many fans took this as a nod to her boyfriend, Louis Partridge, who was in the crowd. Olivia changed “I don’t wanna assume this stuff/ But ain’t it love?/ Think I’m in love” to end with “‘Cause I’m in love” instead.

Noah Kahan released a vinyl version of his 2020 EP Cape Elizabeth for Record Store Day last year. This year, he's marking the EP's four-year anniversary with a post about the record that he says "woke me up."
"Cape Elizabeth isn't just an EP to me," he writes on his Instagram Story. "It's a line in the sand that I have never stepped over again. Music is supposed to be fun. Music isn't supposed to make you bored and depressed and jealous and angry. It should be the same thing it was to you as a kid; a magic trick that makes you and the listener understand each other and yourselves."
"Cape Elizabeth was the first time in so long I felt like a kid again," he continues. "When you guys accepted this EP with open arms it genuinely rearranged the cells in my brain and completely changed my life. I remembered something. I try to never forget it."
Noah recorded Cape Elizabeth during the pandemic, and it was an acoustic, folk-influenced project, unlike his 2021 album I Was/I Am, which he's said was more influenced by what his record label wanted from him.
Speaking about the EP, he told Variety last year, "It was the first time that I let myself just not care about how it sounded at the end ... I just wanted it to make me happy. And to see it connect with people really inspired me to write Stick Season. It kind of gave me the confidence to be like, 'All right, this niche-specific storytelling stuff can actually connect with people in a more universal way.'”
"I really owe it all to that EP, and it’s still probably my favorite piece of work I’ve made. I just love it."

Katy Perry is supportive of her fiancé Orlando Bloom's new show, To the Edge, in which he participates in death-defying activities like skydiving and rock climbing. She just wishes he'd be as disciplined when it comes to keeping the house tidy.
Katy posted photos of herself and Orlando, along with video clips of the crazy stunts he does in the show. She captioned the post, "In a world of AI/deepfakin/green-screenin/vfxing/stunt doublin etc etc my hero baby daddy @orlandobloom does it all and FOR REAL. If you haven’t seen #OnTheEdge [sic] on @peacock yet, buckle up and grab a ginger ale (like I did!) and stream it now…"
The caption continues with a note addressed directly to Orlando, asking him to "check slide nine." That slide is a photo of a pair of socks resting on what looks like a clothing hook.
"(CAN YOU PLEASE PUT YOUR SOCKS AWAY IN THE RIGHT PLACE FOR ONCE AND THEN FINALLY I WILL BE IMPRESSED)," Katy writes in all caps. "(I DONT NEED YOU TO CLIMB MOUNT EVEREST OK)."

It may be hard to imagine that Dua Lipa has time to read, given all that she's doing to promote her new album, Radical Optimism, but she's officially announced the May pick for her Service95 Book Club.
The book is Swimming in the Dark by Tomasz Jedrowski, about two young men who fall in love in Communist Poland in the '80s, when such relationships were forbidden. Dua describes it as a "beautiful coming-of-age love story" that's "poetic and tender," yet "burning with a quiet rage at the persecution the LGBTQ+ community in Poland has suffered for decades and continues to fight against today."
As part of this month's Book Club content, Dua's done a Q&A with Tomasz. For context, you can read an article about LGBTQ rights in Poland; Tomasz has also contributed a reading list and a playlist of songs he listened to while writing the book.

Lenny Kravitz recently went viral with an Instagram post that showed him lifting weights in boots and leather pants. While you may have thought he was doing it just for the social media post, it turns out that's actually his normal workout attire.
"I'm always working out in leather pants or jeans and boots and whatever — if I'm not doing cardio," Kravitz tells Variety. "If I'm doing cardio, obviously I'm going to wear sweats because I'm going to be sweating all over the place. But if I'm lifting weights, I don't sweat so much."
As for why he wears leather for his workout, it seems Kravitz doesn’t see the point in wasting time changing.
"I'm coming from somewhere or I'm going somewhere. And I just don't care. I'm gonna pop in, I've got 45 minutes, we're gonna hit it and I'm gonna go run to where I'm going,” the 59-year-old rocker says. “So I don't do it for effect. I didn't do that to be like, 'Oh, let me be just so different and wear leather pants and glasses.' No, it's just me walking in off the street.”
As for critics who blasted his choice of gym wear, Kravitz doesn’t pay them any attention.
“I know what I'm doing. And my trainer knows what he's doing. And I know my body and what my body does and what it can do and how it feels and it's all good,” he says. “I trained with elite athletes, I trained with football players, NFL and NBA stars. I trained with MLB stars, wrestlers, boxers. I've played with them all. I won't mention names, but they're all people you would know. And they'll tell you I train very seriously."

June 21 will mark the 10th anniversary of the release of X (Multiply), the album that made Ed Sheeran a huge star. He's celebrating that milestone with an anniversary show in New York City, and an anniversary edition of the album with nine bonus tracks.
The show takes place May 22 at Brooklyn's Barclay Center, and the setlist will match his 2015 live album, X (Wembley Edition). Fans can pre-register for the pre-sale from now through May 2 at 11:59 p.m. ET via Seated. The tickets go on sale to the fans selected starting May 6 at 10 a.m. via Ticketmaster.
The 10th anniversary edition will be released on June 21, 10 years to the day of the album's original release. It'll be available on multiple formats, which are available for preorder now. One of those formats, called EcoRecord vinyl, is a new, more ecologically sustainable LP format.
X featured the hits "Don't," "Sing," "Photograph" and "Thinking Out Loud." The nine bonus tracks included on the anniversary edition will be making their debuts on vinyl. They include the movie soundtrack songs "I See Fire" and "All of the Stars," as well as "Take It Back," "Shirtsleeves," "Even My Dad Does Sometimes," "English Rose," "Touch and Go," "New York" and "Make It Rain."
On Instagram, Ed wrote of X, "This album was made from 2011 - 2014, and spanned my whole personal life through that time, which was a mad time."
"Going from playing pubs and clubs to selling arenas in those years, falling in and out of love, travelling all round the world, working with some of the best producers in the world, it was a real rollercoaster, and it’s been amazing to revisit all the memories," he added.

It's May 1, so on Tuesday, April 30, four-fifths of *NSYNC acknowledged what's now become a time-honored tradition: It's Gonna Be May Day.
In case you're unaware, when the group recorded their 2000 #1 hit "It's Gonna Be Me," producer Max Martin suggested that Justin Timberlake pronounce "me" as "may" because it sounded better. In 2012, a Tumblr user was the first to make the "It's Gonna Be May" joke in regard to the calendar and it soon became a popular meme.
Justin posted a video on Instagram Tuesday that starts with a woman asking, "What's a word you pronounced incorrectly one time and it still haunts you 'til this day?" Cut to Justin thinking for a second and then saying, "Me."
Lance Bass, meanwhile, posted a video of himself giving his husband, Michael, a card. When Michael opens it, he reads, "Roses are red, April is gray, but when you wake up tomorrow—" he stops reading and says, in a horrified tone, "Oh no!" Cut to Lance with a bunch of ramen noodles on his head — to mimic Justin's hairstyle in the 2000s — lip-synching, "It's gonna be May!"
"POV: your friend mispronounces a word once and now it’s a national holiday," reads the caption. "Happy #itsgonnabemay Day!"
Joey Fatone posted a video showing himself saying "It's Gonna Be May" while enjoying activities at Great Wolf Lodge, which is running a May discount special. Chris Kirkpatrick posted a video showing the co-host of his podcast, Name Drop, asking, "When are we gonna be back for Name Drop?" Cue Chris jumping into the frame to sing the line.
It seems JC Chasez sat this year out.
